Now! Onto the post!
I don't know if this happens to many of you but, I always seem to want to wear the same outfit two Sundays in a row! Something that also occurs in my house is when my mom and I walk out of our rooms we are either a marvelous sight to behold oorrr often times we......match! And that is not something you want on a rushed and stressful morning! So, I decided to plan out my outfit the night before. I subsequently showed it to my mom and forbade her to wear anything of a similar color ;D
So, here is my outfit and all the details; where I got the clothing, jewelry, shoes ect. and how much everything cost (if I can remember, that is! ;)). I will also go into what makeup products brought this look together! Enjoy!
White collared top: I bought it while I was on a mission trip in Lithuania. It was from a shop called Apranga. You probably can't get this exact top in the U.S., but I've seen many like it. It cost 69 Lithuanian dollars and I think that is the equivalent to $29 USD or so.
Ripped skinny jeans: bought these on sale at Kohls for $9
And the oxford style flats I bought on clearance at Macy's for $39. I thing they were like $80 something originally so, that was a steal!
For blush I used the blush from the E.L.F. contouring blush and bronzer duo in St. Lucia. $3
Then I used the bronzer from the St. Lucia duo on my eyelids. Next, to add a bit more definition I added a darker matte brown shade in the crease. And smudged that same color on my upper lashline.
Then I just curled my lashes and added some mascara! Mascara is my absolute favorite makeup product! I just love it. The one I used was Pumped Up! Colossal by Maybelline. That stuff is great!
And lastly, the lips. I thought that a classic bold, red lip would go perfectly with this look since the whole thing has a vintage~y feel. I used a lipstick from the Kate Moss collection by Rimmel in the color 01 $5.99 That is the best drugstore lipstick I've used to date! And they have an amazing range of colors. I definitely recommend it!
This mornings sermon was titled "What Are You Expecting From God?" and based in Psalm 62.
Pastor illustrated the power of expecting great things from God with the story of David and Goliath. David remembered all of the great things God had done for him and the Israelites when facing the giant. He remembered the things God's army forgot.
When David challenged Goliath, everyone in the camp likely thought he was crazy, "this teenaged, sheep herder standing up to a giant?!" In the soldier's minds he was too big to defeat. They were so busy expecting to be vanquished, they forgot all the times they were victorious! The reason David defeated Goliath was because he didn't have a doubt in his mind about the greatness of his God. In David's mind Goliath was too big to miss and his confidence in God was well~placed.
Faith is an act of confidence. If God is the base of your confidence you will not be greatly moved. The devil sows seeds of doubt in our minds to keep us from the purpose and prosperity God has in store for us. So we need to stand strong in our faith.
Abraham Lincoln said these wise words,"Most folks are just as happy as they make up their minds to be." And that can work with many different words than just happy! Positive, Joyful, Kind, Loving, Hard~Working. Anything you can think of that you are struggling with!
I challenge you to practice positivity tomorrow. You can smile at someone on the bus or at the grocery store. You can tell someone how great they look or what great works God is fulfilling in your life. You may never know how much you made their day but, simply thinking about making someone happy, makes me happy. To quote the lovely Snow White,"Remember, you're the one who can fill the world with sunshine."
I leave you with this encouraging scripture: "God has spoken plainly, and I've heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to You; unfailing love, O Lord, is Yours." Psalm 62:11~12a.
